We have grouped the stories around our workshops titles. They don't always fit as people don't live their lives in boxes so explore them all!
Sometimes it can be hard for people who don't have a disability to understand what life might be like for those who do. It's useful to remember that disabled people are much more like non-disabled people than different from them.
Reading stories about the lives and dreams of people with disabilities is a good way to get a sense of this. On this page you will find links to real-life stories about children and adults with disabilities. As this website grows, more stories will appear.
If you click on the link to Working Around Disability you will find a short film where two stories are being told: the story of a man who has been disabled since he was born, and that of a photographer who had to come to terms with being around the disabilities of the people she was working with.
Use these resources to help you reflect on what life with a disability - in a world filled with things designed for able-bodied people might be like.
