Mobility Parking
All city councils around New Zealand provide mobility parking spaces throughout their city or town. To be eligible we first are assessed by our doctor we must meet very specific criteria. We then pay a small fee to receive the card which is valid for five years or less if our mobility is impaired temporarily. Once we receive our mobility card we have the right to use mobility parks and must display our card correctly every time.
If you park illegally in a mobility park you may receive a parking ticket. The fine for this misdemeanour recently increased to $140.
